i believe human culture is progressing at an exponential rate due to the speed of the exchange of information which allows culture to expand very quickly.  as far as how much good this will do us?  i think it could help a lot with understanding more, faster.  hopefully this will help with advances in medicine.  i think also that this will make younger people be able to come up with amazing ideas for helping with the problems of humanity we will face in the future.  my hope is that the younger people with the aid of the immediate exchange of information available on the web...  will be amazing and work on things like understanding the brain and how it really works.  also advances in medicine allowing people with brain injuries today to be much better off within ten years.

the decline of a culture?  the culture here in the united states is in its infancy.  other cultures?  well, all cultures are being influenced by information exchange on the internet.  all cultures are starting to lose some of their boundaries and become more 'mixed' which is a good thing.  i think that in the future we will have an amalgam of different cultures composing one world culture.

i would rather be recognized after my death and work in obscurity during my lifetime.
i just think that's how it should be.  it is better.  because that means you were ahead of your time
like herman melville.

like van gogh

and we work on without being influenced by the expectations of fame.

Would you want to be friends, or housemates, with yourself?

hahaha
that's hilarious.

no.  i would not want to be housemates with myself for the rest of my life.  i would go insane.  even more than i was in the first place!

sometimes this has applied to relationships with persons who were too much like me that we couldn't get along because of it.

To see a man fearless in dangers, untainted with lusts, happy in adversity, composed in a tumult, and laughing at all those things which are generally either coveted or feared, all men must acknowledge that this can be from nothing else but a beam of divinity that influences a mortal body.
Lucius Annaeus Seneca : Spanish-born Roman (Stoic) philosopher, statesman & tutor of Nero Seneca (4 BC - 65 AD)

these days it seems like someone like Seneca described would be labeled as insane.
i think we leave no room for natural living or creativity and that is why so many people are considered
mentally ill.  it's all about getting and maintaining a job and money and property and debt.

i have never known a person like Seneca describes this of which i was aware.
i would like to experience such a beam of divinity.
i really really would.

Did you enjoy school when you were young?

I always enjoyed school.  Always looked forward to going and hated weekends because they were just boring.  when i was younger it was for social reasons and also because for me, school was a safe-haven from home which wasn't always a picnic.

a place of learning felt sanctified to me... a safe haven... a place where i was praised for my abilities and acknowledge for my talents and intellect.

i look forward to getting a higher degree, in the future.  right now i have a B.A. in Anthropology from Humboldt State University.  but i've taken many, many classes in many fields of study just because i wanted to learn about the subjects.

it was a misunderstanding where someone thought that i was going around impersonating them but that isn't what happened at all! it cracked me up for a good ten minutes.  every time i pictured how it looked to everyone but me!

paradox.
ultimate truth is often expressed in the form of paradox.
because in GOD or whatever you are going to call That which Thou Art = I AM that I AM
more than one thing can be true at the same time.
something can be both good and bad but if you take a larger view it's neither and both.
depending on from which angle you are viewing the situation or scenario.

i've always wanted to play guitar. acoustic

i love to sing and i love to listen to people sing and i think it is way better when a singer plays guitar too.

way more authentic, to me.

i did try to teach myself a few songs about a decade ago, but it hurt my fingers.
but i still liked it.
